Exhibitions in Venice: Fishing in the Lagoon, Ninni-Marella collection

Fishing in the Lagoon is one of the Venetians’ favourite activities. It is not a simple pastime but a real tradition of the city since ancient times. Until 19 April 2020 at the Centro Culturale Candiani (Piazzale Luigi Candiani 7) you can admire an incredible collection of 19th century models of boats and fishing equipment and discover all the secrets of this ancient art. The models were made by the craftsman Angelo Marella and commissioned by Count Alessandro Pericle Ninni. The collection has been recently restored and can usually be seen at the Natural History Museum of the city.

The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday it keeps open until 6 p.m. After having discovered the secrets of fishing boats in the lagoon, aren’t you curious to taste the traditional dishes? We are waiting for you at the Ristorante Centrale with our fish dishes.
